Numerous lobster pots have washed up on the stony eastern shore of Fort Pond Bay. There is other flotsam and jetsam as well, including beach staircases. Cleaning them up will be a heavy, demanding job. But we will have help! This major cleanup is being conducted in conjunction with the East Hampton Litter Action Committee and the Montauk Harbor Master.
If you're up for a challenging day in a beautiful, wild part of East Hampton, please join us. And share this notice with any strong-backed young people you know. Bring gloves, water, sunscreen, bug spray, etc.
Meet in the parking area on the west side of Flamingo Road in Montauk just north of the intersection with Willis Point Road. Duration: App. 3 hours. Strenuous. You don't need to stay the whole time.
