Laurel Canyon in Montauk’s Hither Woods has been in the news lately, because the East Hampton Town Board has proposed a massive sewage treatment plant here, on existing County parkland. We will try to focus on the beauty of the mountain laurel, which will hopefully be in bloom when we visit, on this tour of the eastern part of magnificent Hither Woods. Meet 10:00 a.m. at Rod’s Valley parking area, west end of Navy Road, Montauk. Bring snacks & liquids.
